- Commissioner James Gordon uses the Bat-Signal to call upon Batman for help over an apparent serial killer case. Gordon suggests Killer Croc or Solomon Grundy, which Batman finds unlikely.
- Batman goes to Catwoman to discuss the investigation. The latter mentions Jack Ryder blames Harley Quinn, which Catwoman rejects. Selina also offers a possible lead; Kite-Man allegedly crossed paths with the killer, but is not on their list.

Trivia
- This story blog features interior artwork from Batman: The Dark Prince Charming #1 (2018) by Enrico Marini, and a variant cover for Batman/Catwoman #1 (2021) by Jim Lee.
- "Kite-Man" is spelled as such in the Story Blog, while Kite Man Doll Accessory spells it with a space. The correct spelling is with a hyphen.
- Catwoman mentions Condiment King, who does not yet appear in DC Universe Online, although Condiment Master belt exists as a style item. She also jokingly suggests to "Ask if the killer prefers aioli or mustard on their sandwich?"; aioli is a yellow condiment, although Condiment King is typically depicted with yellow mustard and red ketchup.
- In the comics, the only penthouse Bruce Wayne owned in Gotham was the one on the roof of the Wayne Foundation building during the Earth-One continuity (pre Infinite Crisis). The short story doesn't specify the penthouse's location; if that is the penthouse mentioned and it exists in any of the Gotham City in the maps, it doesn't look anything like its comic book counterpart.
- The dialogue between Batman and Catwoman hints that the Dark Knight had cracked the Green and Blue Lanterns' involvement with the murders.
