Ionizing Materials is a collectible belonging to the " Chemo's Legacy" item collection.

Ionizing materials are materials that generate radiation through nuclear reaction or decay, very high temperature, or acceleration of charged particles in electromagnetic fields. In real life, adverse effects of radiation exposure include death or malfunction of cells, mutations and cancer. In the super-hero genre, radiation is also known for grating superpowers - radiation from yellow stars grants powers to Kryptonians, a nuclear accident allowed anti-nuclear activist Ronnie Raymond and physicist Martin Stein to fuse together and become the "nuclear man" Firestorm, Nathaniel Adam participated in an experiment that involved radiation and became Captain Atom.
Ionizing materials were found in Blüdhaven after the Secret Society of Super-Villains detonated Chemo, a sentient being made of chemical compounds, in the city.
