Summary

  • It uses a framing device of a journal written by a duo of female vigilantes in Kaznia, Voivode (her real name is Dejana) and her sidekick Jack.
  • They defeat zombies and capture the villain behind them, the undead Monsieur Mort, in the old mausoleum, who warns them that "far worse than him is coming to devour Kaznia." Later, Dejana fight Magents who are said to have been kidnapping people for rituals, while Jack is grounded at home. A Magent claims that the serial killer has been targeting Magents as well. Jack is excited while Voivode is apprehensive, but Jack convinces her of a team up with John Constantine.

Trivia

  • This story blog features interior artwork from DCeased: A Good Day to Die (2019) by Laura Braga.
  • The events in this blog happened concurrently with the journal entries in the Voivode's Crime Journal investigations.
  • "Dejana" is a Slavic name meaning "gift of God". Dejana's heroic identity, "Voivode", is a Slavic title for a military leader. Perhaps coincidentally, the English name "Jack" means "God is gracious".
  • Unlike most characters (coincidentally, the story also involves a rare canonical exception, John Constantine), Jack apparently lacks a heroic identity, and also named her weapon after her real name.
  • Dejana idolizes Batman and made three references to him in the journal.
  • This is the first time a Story Blog included original artwork. It features John Constantine and an unknown heroine facing a semi-obscured monstrous being in a snowy graveyard.; A gravestone in the background reads "Rudolf Schramm", a German name at odds with the Slavic setting of Kaznia, although in real life, millions of ethnic Germans lived in Eastern European countries before they fled or were expulsed after WWII.
