Trivia
- In Roman numerals, M=1,000, D=500, C=100, L=50, X=10, V=5, and I=1. The same letter can only be repeated 3 times (3=III, 4=IV). If the value of a letter is lower than the one that comes next, subtract that value from the highest number (IX = 10-1 = 9). If the value if a letter is equal or higher than the one that comes next, add both values (LX=60). For your convenience:
- MCMXCVIII = 1998
- I = 1
- CCCLXIX = 369
- MCMXCIV = 1994. That's the year of publication of the storyline Emerald Twilight, in which Hal Jordan became Parallax, the Green Lantern Corps was dissolved, and Kyle Rayner became the Green Lantern.
- "CDXLXX" has a typo. C-D = 500-100 = 400, X-L = 50-10 = 40, but the last two X don't make sense. It is possible that they were meant to be IX = 9 — if so, then the number is 449.
- IX = 9
- CDXLVIII = 448
- MMDCCLI = 2751. The Sector 2751 was the jurisdiction of Green Lantern M'Dahna, a survivor of one of the earliest encounters with the dreaded lord of the dead Nekron, the entity that represents the Black Lantern Corps.
- This is the first reference to other Lantern Corps besides Green and Yellow.; The Red Lanterns were added with the episode Fight for the Light.; The Blue Lanterns were added with the episode War of the Light Part I.; The Violet and Orange Lanterns were added with the episode War of the Light Part II.; The Indigo and Black Lanterns were added with Episode 15.
- In the comics, only the Book of Oa and the Book of Parallax exist. The book connected to the Black Lanterns is the Book of the Black.
