- This subject has been replaced or otherwise rendered obsolete by various updates, downloadable content packages, or general system upgrades.
- Prefab Mods are Equipment Mods that can be bought with marks of valor, instead of being crafted with exobytes through research and development. Plans for Prefab Mods do not exist and thus do not have to be researched.
- Prefab Mods open up higher level options of mods for free and premium players, as previously they were gated by their cash caps ($1500 and $2000 respectively).
- In contrast to Synthetic Mods Prefab Mods are available as mixed-stat mods in tier VI and above.

- Originally Prefab Mods were called Synthetic Mods which then were available at PvE as well as PvP vendors. This was changed with Hotfix 21/10/14 when the mods available at PvP vendors were renamed.
