| " Gotham Now News Brief: Sources close to the villain underground seem to indicate that the Joker, long a scourge of Gotham City, has been struck a serious blow after an exchange between the psychotic clown, Batman, and Brainiac. Appearances by the 'clown prince' and his gang have been rarer of late, and all of Gotham's newly empowered heroes can rest easy tonight. A job well done! For Gotham Now, I'm Vicki Vale." |

| " " Gotham Now News Brief: Sources close to the GCPD indicate that the Batman, long Gotham's 'Dark Knight', has been struck a serious blow today. An altercation between Gotham's protector, the Joker, and Brainiac apparently turned south after the intervention of newly-empowered villains. While these sources are fairly sure the Batman still lives, the explosion of Joker gang violence in Gotham's underbelly indicates we won't be seeing him on the streets anytime soon. For Gotham Now, I'm Vicki Vale. " |
