Story

  • " The Black Lanterns believe that life itself is an aberration to the natural order and seek to end all life in the universe. Despite their differences, all the various Corps of the emotional spectrum can agree on one thing... ending all life is not in anyone's best interest. But the Corps can't do this without your help. We're all counting on you to save the spectrum, and well, all life, everywhere." — Oracle

Despite their differences, all the various Corps of the emotional spectrum can agree an one thing... ending all life would essentially suck. But the Corps can't do this without us. So, please save the universe. I like living there." — Calculator
  • The Blackest Night falls from the skies,
  • The darkness grows as all light dies,
  • We crave your hearts and your demise,
  • By my black hand, the dead shall rise!
  • Nekron has come. He has joined his herald, Black Hand, in extinguishing all light – all life – in the universe. The Metropolis Battlefield was ripe with the lingering death from the War of the Light, allowing Nekron to raise an enormous Black Lantern in the middle of the city. The area around the Lantern is scorched earth, scarred by the Corruption brought by the Black. You must fight alongside the Lantern Corps and send Nekron and his Black Lanterns back to the Land of the Unliving in the Blackest Night.
  • And so ends the War of the Light saga.

But don’t worry, the Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris, has a plan. Will you aid her in stopping Nekron and the Black Lanterns from snuffing out all life in the universe?

Diamond Mist

  • You meet Carol Ferris at the S.T.A.R. Labs Research Facility - the one from the alert of the same name the very first episode, Fight for the Light, where Brainiac built his logic battery, which you reach after fighting through some Black Lantern mobs. Carol reveals Brainiac's meddling with the emotional spectrum blew apart the emotional entities into the mist. She theorises she could use the logic battery to mix together the seven types of mist to create a white, or diamond mist to destroy the Black Lanterns, while Hal and Sinestro urges her to hurry.
  • You need to interact with the 7 mist containers, then carry the mist to the logic battery to infuse them into it. You can't use your abilities while infused with mist, and putting it in the logic battery takes a long channel leaving you vulnerable. At the same time, you are attacked by Corrupted Martian Manhunter and Corrupted Solomon Grundy. They will continuously heal when below ~20% health making them impossible to defeat, if the diamond mist is not yet created.
  • After filling the logic battery with all the mists, the diamond mist is created. Once both bosses are defeated, Munk arrives and opens a portal to take everyone to Metropolis where the Black Lantern battery is. If your group is defeated by the bosses, you will have to create the diamond mist again.

Corrupted Superboy

  • The portal leads you to a blackened Metropolis Battlezone, with numerous Black Lanterns and Corrupted Superboy. The mobs are densely packed and it is recommended to KO them one section at the time to avoid being overrun, and deal with all of them before engaging Corrupted Superboy. However, if he defeats your team, the Black Lanterns respawn.
  • Corrupted Superboy can hit non-tanks from a distance very hard, easily dealing one-shot damage even in normal, particularly his Kryptonian Beam that can sweep a wide area. Black Lanterns are also spawned during the fight, but can be avoided by quickly standing on the black pools opening at the ground in the greater area of the fight.

Nekron

  • Finally, you face Nekron and Black Hand. While Black Hand can be damaged and KO'ed, Nekron will simply revive him, while Nekron himself is immune to damage.
  • You have to wait for canisters of the diamond mist to appear at the Indigo Tribe portal and transport each to the Black Lantern battery. Then, a random player would be teleported inside the battery. They need to pick up the canister and carry it to the indicate spot inside the battery, turning the energy from black to white, and they are teleported back out. Once all four spots have been converted, white light shines out of the battery and Nekron can now be damaged normally.
  • The whole time, you'd have to contend with the attacks of Nekron, Black Hand, Black Lantern mobs - and if any of your Lantern Corps allies are KO'ed, Nekron may raise them as a Black Lantern and turn them against your team. Therefore, it is common for the tank alone to hold the enemies' attention on the opposite side of the portal, so others can use the mist without interference or needing to fight until Nekron is vulnerable.
  • Hazards are also a massive threat in this fight, as permanent black pools can spawn in the are, dealing massive damage over time to players within. They can even spawn mid-air at eye height making them nearly invisible disks at some angles. Black orbs also rove around the area damaging nearby players, but at least the Lethal attack icon above them makes them easier to see.
