Overview

  • Bouncers are found outside each Safe House. There are usually two of them at each location and they perform massive knock backs to players that are of the opposing morality (e.g. a Hero character will be knocked away from the entrance of the Club 539, as will a Villain character be knocked away from the entrance of the GCPD 12th Precinct). While this also grounds a player and prevents them from using abilities or attacks, this is usually not a problem as they knock back the player so hard ( breakout cannot be used), by the time they hit the ground the effect would wear off, unless they land on a tall building.
  • Previously, most bouncers could actually be killed by attacking from the edge of the player's range. They are level 30, have a lot of health and no drops. After an update, bouncers at Safe Houses are no longer attackable NPCs. However, level 34 bouncers STAR Sentry Knox and STAR Sentry Erickson, who guard Researcher Quinn, remain attackable (by villain players). There is a possible Exo-Material spawn spot right behind the trio, so a villain player must KO both Sentries before they can reach it. They drop generic items (like Nth Metal (Artifacts)) and would respawn after a few seconds.
  • Only some attacks have a long enough range to hit the bouncers without them being able to hit back (they are immune to crowd control and are immobile, much like turrets). Notably, Rifle's Grenade Launcher is able to do so as the grenade explodes at maximum range. This is an accessible way to KO them as it requires only a single skill point into Rifle and does not depend on Powers. Pets are also able to attack them continuously after you have landed a blow on them, and they are not targeted directly by bouncers' knockback (although they would be forced to return to the player if the player is knocked back).
