Overview
- For the briefings collection, see Metro Transit (Briefings).
- " The shinning jewel in the Metro transit system's crown is the Rail Whale, its elevated railway. This train hangs suspended from tracks high above the city and provides an unparalleled view of Downtown as it weaves through the city's most prominent skyscrapers." — Booster Gold
- The Metro Mass Transit System, or simply Metro Transit, is an elevated rail system threaded through the various districts of Metropolis.
About
- Known as the "Rail Whale" for the incomparable size of its triple-decker passenger cars, and heavily advertised as "faster than a speeding bullet", it frequently experiences temporary shutdowns due to villainous activity to secure the safety of passengers.
Railway Lines
- The Metro Transit has three inland railway lines, none of which connect the three islands.
- The Little Bohemia Line connects the Metropolis University Campus to the Southbank Commercial District. It starts at the Southbank Station (west) and runs near the Metrodome and the General Hospital, then above the West River Quay until the Quayside Station; it continues above the Outlook Park, running next to the Club L'Excellence Nightclub and the university's Residence Hall until the Eagle's Station (southeast), located next to the Metropolis University de facto.
- The main New Troy Line connects most districts of the island. It starts at an unnamed station by the Science Spire, running by Starrware until the New Troy Central Station; it continues between the Big Belly Corporate HQ buildings, above Centennial Park, and by the Old S.T.A.R. Labs, then around Glenmorgan Square until Union Station to an unnamed station east of Glennmorgan. From there it runs next to LexCorp Tower until another unnamed station south of Daily Planet, then runs south of Centennial Park and by Cain Street Mall, south of Big Belly Corporate HQ, through the Jerry White Memorial Eco Corridor, by Galaxy Communications and STAR Labs, then near Ace o' Clubs until ending at an unnamed station halfway to the Condemned Shipyards under Atlantean invasion.
- The Tomorrow District Line runs near the district's rooftops and is the only line that runs in a loop, with only 2 (unnamed) stations. If you start at the station northwest of STAR Labs and go north, it runs above the Jerry White Memorial Eco Corridor until west of New Troy Central Station before turning south. It continues above the Avenue of Tomorrow, by the 8th Precinct Metropolis Science Police HQ, then around Galaxy Communications until the second station south of Galaxy. There are no other remarkable locations on the short path between the two stations.
- There are no lines that go into the Chinatown and Historic districts.
