Overview
- Cross-Faction Play is a game mechanic where New Heroes and New Villains are grouped up together to play through an instance via the queue-up mechanism.
- Instances eligible for cross-faction play are indicated in the On Duty Menu by a large red crosshair in the upper right corner.
- For technical reasons, operations with their multiple locations were so far excluded from cross-faction play. Atlantis: The Throne was the first operation to be released ready for it and with game update 92 New Genesis Now and Brainiac's Bottle Ship were made available.

- Cross-faction play is always indicated by a short narration of Amanda Waller when one or more players of the opposite faction join.
- Although it is not possible to build a pre-made group for cross-faction play it is possible to switch to a player character of the opposite faction once the instance has started.
