Overview
- The Journal is an interface that allows players to keep track of their current missions.
- Missions are grouped into several categories:
- Completed - Completed missions needing to be clicked to complete
- Main Missions - Classic Game missions (See Hero, Villain and Mentor-based Missions)
- Story Missions - Introductory missions meant to be played through the first time a player begins a new Story Arc ( Episode or Chapter)
- Featured Story Missions - Story Missions from the three most recent Story Arcs
- Daily Missions - Repeatable Daily Missions from DLC Story Arcs
- Weekly Missions - Repeatable Weekly Missions from DLC Story Arcs
- Seasonal Missions - Missions tied to Seasonal Events
- Side Missions - Classic Game Side Missions, Randomly assigned Story Arc Missions from a Mission Set, Exploration and Bounty missions
- Instructional Missions - Missions that teach players a new location, game process, or equippable upgrades.
- On Duty Missions - Classic Game Tier 1 Alerts missions
- Miscellaneous - Classic Game PvP Bounty/Wanted missions, Arena PvP Arenas missions
- Players can single-tap the mission to view its content, which includes the description, objective(s) and reward(s). Double-tap the title or click the Track button on the lower right corner to track the mission, which will display the objective on the mission track reminder and trigger a communicator delivering message from a related character when appropriate. The mission track reminder can be turned off in the UI settings.
- When a mission does not disappear upon completion, players would need to press the Complete button to remove it from the journal. If such action does not perform the described function, it could be that the inventory requires reorganization, or the mission has more than one reward to choose from, in which the player needs to pick their option under the Rewards banner to proceed.

- Another glitch that causes the player to appear in where the face of Batman/ Oracle should be. Also shows the merged missions glitch - this time, the upper one is the correct message for Logic Loses but the lower one belongs to Lethal Pod-Cast.
Trivia
- Many missions, especially while leveling up to level 30, do not have a taskmaster and will automatically appear in the journal, triggered either by the completion of a previous mission, reaching a specific combat rating or during a certain time ( Events).
- Game Update 168 added "Warp to Mission" functionality to the Journal. Players leveling through Metropolis and Gotham City content (levels 1–30) can now teleport directly to their active mission's location straight from the Mission Journal, making navigation faster and more accessible for new and returning players alike.
- At sometime in early summer 2026. many early Classic Game leveling missions have had the final mission in the story arc mission chain revamped to replace concluding the mission by returning to the Safe House and interacting with a character, to receiving a Message from the character and interacting via the messages dialog system.

- Story Missions are listed under the category of the same name in the player's Journal. They will appear there either automatically, or after visiting the open-world zone for the first time via the Orrery of Worlds Teleporter in House of Legends, via Warp from the Events menu
