First Subboss: Nest of Harpies

  • You must defeat the two harpies to proceed. Look around and notice two harpy nests: one of the ground near the passage to the next area, and another on the higher level between two braziers. They'll be important during the fight.
  • Aello the Swift uses Dual Wield and One-Handed weapons and owns the upper nest, while Celaeno the Dark uses a Shield and owns the lower nest. Beyond that, they use the following abilities:
  • Healing Contrivance: a type of "health stealer" ability that heals the caster over time while damaging the target.
  • Wing Buffet : fly around a marked target, lifting them up and causing damage over time.
  • Ground Slam: Aello spins while in the air, pressuring the ground to damage nearby enemies.
  • Leeching Field: Celaeno places a circle of purple flames around her target that burns and deals damage over time.
  • From time to time, the harpies will stop fighting and encase themselves in purple shields, and a message will appear "Harpies are Summoning Dark Magic!" Each of the nests will spawn a purple Dark Crystal (remember who owns each nest), from which the harpies will absorb power after a few seconds. Destroy the crystals to interrupt their summoning and continue the fight. They can be defeated in any order and won't revive each other.
  • After defeating the harpies, descend further until you find the Hellhounds.

Second Subboss: Trio of Hell Hounds

  • Now, you must get rid of these hounds. Note that the bigger one, Orthrus, has an aura around his head, which signals his special ability: a howl that revives his allies, Barghest and Old Shuck, with around 40% of their health. Besides that, the Hellhounds abilities are:
  • Dog Bite Toss
  • Fling: Chomps down on the target and toss them to the side.
  • Leeching Field: Flames appear around Barghest and Old Shuck once they're down. It'll burn the player and deal damage over time.
  • Pounce
  • Ranged Attack
  • Ravage
  • Savage Bite: The hound will violently bite a marked target. Lethal when coming from Orthrus.
  • Terrifying Bark
  • Thrash: Snaps at the target, damaging it over time and stunning it.
  • After banishing the Hellhounds, go down the path defeating the shades along the way, and you'll find a weakened Hades ahead. Interact with him to set him free, and listen to his speech until the end. Then, follow him to the final boss.

Final Boss: Ixion

  • You'll find Ixion burning with a green flame and two of his allies encased in green shields. Look around and notice that the four braziers in the area have the same shields. Engage the shades that are vulnerable and the shields around the flames will become targetable. You must break the shields and interact with the braziers to extinguish the fire to get to Ixion - the use of shields is recommended, as more shades will come as you defeat them.
  • Ixion uses a Two-Handed weapon, and summons shades to fight alongside him. He has one special ability, Ground Slam: he'll smash the ground with his hammer, causing a localized earthquake that'll deal heavy damage - this ability is not announced. Avoid the earthquake and defeat the shades if they come between you and Ixion - they'll arrive in groups of three, but Hades will help you by banishing one of from each wave. Once you defeat the False Lord, the remaining shades will vanish, and Hades will banish Ixion.
  • Speak to Hades to finish the run.
