Overview
- Shadows Over Argo is tier 8 playable content that contains the open world Sunken Argo City, the raid SoA: Sunstone Refinery and a scaled-down alert version SoA: Sunstone Refinery Alert, the challenge SoA: Kryb's Lab, plus the Flashback instances SoA Flashback: The Royal War and SoA Flashback: Spindrift Station available during related chapter events.
- The chapter is intended to be the first of a 4-part Story Arc, " Children of Krypton".
- The casual mode version is available for player characters with level 20 or above.
- This chapter also featured an event running from June 2nd through 30th, 2026 where exclusive rewards and resources can be earned by completing missions to earn progress points.

Red KryptoniteSoA: Sunstone Refinery
- Beneath Argo City lies the Sunstone Refinery, a sealed Kryptonian facility once used to contain Red Kryptonite. It has become something far more unstable, where old systems still hum with a corrupted purpose. Hunt down Atrocitus in the Sunstone Refinery and stop his experiments with Red Kryptonite. Multiple difficulty options allow all players to experience the story, with Elite challenges pushing coordination and skill to the limit. Available in Casual, Normal, and Elite versions.
SoA: Sunstone Refinery Alert
- Hunt down Atrocitus in Argo's Sunstone Processing Plant and stop his experiments with Red Kryptonite. The alert offers a condensed experience of the raid that preserves the chapter’s key story beats, designed for smaller strike teams. Available in Casual, Normal, and Elite versions.
SoA: Kryb's Lab
- Deep within Argo’s flooded understructure, players descend into Kryb’s Lab, where some of her most twisted experiments have been taking place. With the lead on Hope's location, travel with Supergirl and Luzia to finally confront Kryb and rescue the only family Luzia has left. This story-focused solo mission is available in Story, Normal, Casual, and Elite versions.

- Continuing the pattern from the preceding Story Arc, story-wise the Kryb's Lab Challenge takes place after the Sunstone Refinery Raid/Alert. Walk-in Story versions of the On-Duty instances are encountered during first play through in missions as follows:; Sunstone Refinery Raid/Alert: Mining for Answers; Kryb's Lab Challenge: The Lab of Horrors
- Once the introductory narrative missions have been completed by one player character, a Shadows Over Argo: Account Mission Skip Voucher is rewarded and can be used to have the option to skip those missions on alternative player characters on the account.
- Origin Augments are now maxed out at 452.
- Generic gear's maximum level is raised to 445.
- From June 2-4, 2026 there was a bug in the game that prevented some players from completing the 2nd mission "Battle for Argo: Establishing a Foothold" by not allowing the player to "Speak with Aquaman". Story progression could not occur. A Hotfix on June 4 resolved the issue.
- Shadows Over Argo is the second time a Kryptonian city is brought to Earth in DC Universe Online, after Kandor Central Tower, nearly ten years ago in real time.
- Break-in at Zor-El's Lab, like all the regular missions, is classified under the location "Sunken Argo City", but it has a separate "Sunken Argo City" section in the journal when sorted by location, and is not considered "Current location", so you need to scroll down to find it even when you are in the open world zone. It is only considered "Current location" after you enter the lab.
